Information for Faculty

Faculty Feedback

Academic Services for Student-Athletes (ASSA) works to support and challenge student-athletes in an effort to help them maximize their academic potential while enrolled at Notre Dame. If you are unfamiliar with the office, ASSA is housed in Undergraduate Education under the Office of the Provost, and the academic counselors also aim to be a valuable resource for faculty.

ASSA recently introduced a web portal for faculty, and we invite you to log in to mystudentathletes.nd.edu to view a list of student-athlete(s) currently enrolled in your course(s). Through this application, we encourage you to share feedback regarding the students’ presence and performance in your class. This information helps academic counselors to work proactively with each student.  Observations concerning participation, level of engagement, class attendance and overall performance are invaluable as we strive to fulfill our office mission.  Please feel free to bookmark this website and return to it at any time throughout the semester, even if you would only like to comment on an individual student. In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), all student-athletes have signed a release form allowing us to discuss these academic issues with you.

Additionally, faculty are encouraged to email or call counselors directly with comments or concerns.

Excused Absences

Excused absences for athletic competition approved by the Faculty Board on Athletics will be communicated to faculty via email from assa@nd.edu.
