Nick Mainieri

Nick Mainieri is Student-Athlete Transition Program Director. He joined the ASSA staff in 2017 and previously served as a Senior Academic Counselor.
Nick studied English at Notre Dame as an undergraduate, earning a Bachelors of Arts in 2006. After briefly working in athletics, Nick relocated to New Orleans for graduate school. He earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of New Orleans in 2011 and then served as an assistant professor of creative writing and literature at Nicholls State University. A freelance writer, his work has appeared in numerous literary journals and magazines. He is also the author of a novel, The Infinite. In addition to his ASSA duties, Nick occasionally teaches writing classes at Notre Dame as an adjunct instructor.
